Weathertron is Yet Another iPhone Weather App. In fact, it’s Yet Another iPhone Weather App Built On Dark Sky’s Back End. But as we shall see it’s totally worth a look: it looks great, it’s universal and – best of all – it’s called Weathertron.
The bottom panel shows the forecast temperature as a graph, with labels for high and low temperatures. And the middle panel indicates cloud cover and rainfall/snowfall, using opacity to indicate cloud thickness (or precipitation type).
This is all navigated either by gestures (to switch between views) or by dragging the vertical line on the screen to see the predictions for various times of day.
Once you get used to it, the default view really tells you everything you need to know about the upcoming day, and because it uses a line to change times instead of letting you drag the whole day view, the display is constant. That is, the morning is always on the left and the evening on the right, for better glanceability.
I actually like it quite a lot. For in-depth planning nothing will tear me away from WeatherPro just yet, but for quick weather checks I think that Weathertron might even replace Today.
