At WWDC 2013, Apple SVP of Internet Software and Services Eddy Cue — who just happens to sit on Ferrari’s Board of Directors — introduced a new feature called “iOS in the Car” that will greatly enhance the integration of iOS devices with in-dash systems. When a user plugs in an iPhone, for instance, the car will automatically display Maps, Siri, Messages, iTunes Radio and more on the center dashboard.

Hamza Sood has now discovered that iOS in the Car will function over both Wi-Fi and USB, with the former suggesting that AirPlay functionality will be in tow. Sood made these findings within a hidden Accessory Developer settings menu in iOS 7 beta. At least twelve car manufacturers have committed to launching iOS in the Car by 2014, including Honda, Nissan, Hyundai, Mercedes-Benz and Ferrari.
